About Me I love to read, write, play with my doggies, look for shells at the river, swim, watch good movies repeatedly (lol), find neat things for my altar, read about Isis, Osiris and Horus most specifically, nighttime, the Moon, and I love to take nice long naps between writing sessions.
Music I love, love, love Green Day, Kittie, Our Lady Peace, Avril Lavigne, soundtracks from a lot of movies, some oldies, a little bit of rap, no country (YUCK!), no ska, no R&B, 3 Doors Down, Beethoven, Marcy Playground, Evanescence, H.I.M., Incubus, Johnny Cash, Lit, Matchbox 20, Mudvayne, A Perfect Circle, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Weird Al Yankovic, and that's about all for now.
Movies Oh, my... Far too many to list offhand, so I'll name only my most favorites: Donnie Darko; The Covenant; Pitch Black; The Chronicles of Riddick; The Craft; Harry Potters 1, 2, 3, and 4 (haven't seen OotP yet, poooo!); Interview With The Vampire; Girl, Interrupted; Gia; Underworld; Underworld Evolution; Silver Bullet; Queen of the Damned; X-Men 1, 2, and 3; UltraViolet; Van Helsing; Signs; The Village; The Sixth Sense; The Shawshank Redemption; and What Dreams May Come, for now.
TV House; Law and Order: SVU; Penn and Teller's Bullsh*t!; Law and Order: CI; South Park; Most nature shows on the Discovery Channel (like Walking With Cavemen and Before The Dinosaurs, for example); Honey, We're Killing The Kids; Roseanne; the local news; Scarred; ummm... I think that's all for now.
Books lol, oh boy... Here we go - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone; Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (though Umbridge was EVIL and made me want to throw the book hard across the room!!!); Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (SO very sad!!!); Alas, Babylon; Harris and Me; Freak the Mighty; Empress of the World; most books on Ancient Kemet (Egypt, to those not in the know); lots of books about Harry Potter; Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles (up to Tale of the Body Thief... Have yet to read more...); The Vampire Encyclopedia; The Encyclopedia of Vampires; The Encyclopedia of Werewolves.
Likes Reading, lol. Harry Potter; my book; writing a lot; my doggies; doggies in general; Moose; music; being a Witch; being in a family full of Witches and Wiccans and Pagans; the smell of my dachshund, Jake; the smell of my mom; the smell of my deceased Gram; manatees; being a lesbian (no, I don't mean the sex!!!); history; English; Grammar; Spelling; Canada; the U.K.; green tea; mashed potatoes; earthworms; millipedes; cows; walking sticks; collecting acorns; winter; late fall; Samhain; giving things to people that they like; Silver; and my family.

Hobbies oooh, boy... Well, my main hobby right now is writing. That's all I ever seem to do these days, lol. I love writing. After all, it's in my blood. My mom wrote, my Gram wrote, my sister writes, so I'm genetically programmed to write! LOL! Besides writing, I love to scrapbook and take pictures on Mabon, balancing an egg (it's a tradition in my house, lol)... Other than writing and scrapbooking, I don't really have any other hobbies, lol. I'm pretty boring most of the time! :D
Vices My vices... Hmmm... I'd say, smoking. It's gonna kill me, I do declare. Financially and physically! Chocolate... A really good batch of Chicken Dirty Rice and Gumbo... Oh, those'll kill me, too! lmao! I do have a short temper, that's true. I'm a bit apathetic at times, that's true, too. I tend to live in my head most of the time, and disregard the real world (well, it's so depressing!). And, if it's possible, I write just a bit too much, lol.
Virtues I don't have very many virtues, lol. I'm a survivor, I persevere, even in the worst situations, I look on the brighter side of Death and Life, I make a lot of jokes, so my sense of humor can be considered a virtue, I suppose... Love. That's a virtue and a vice for me. I tend to love all people, even when they do mean things and I tend to serve my heart up on the proverbial silver platter when I think I've met the right person, but inevitably, they stomp all over it with golf cleats... So love, for me, is both a virtue and a vice.
Heroes J.K. Rowling; Stephen King; my family; my doggies (long story, kind of); Isis; Albert Einstein.

My First Blog... On here, that is...

Friday, August 10, 2007, 01:21 AM CST [General]

Well, this is my first blog... I'm new to the site, only having found it because of the yahoo group to which I belong. I only belong to one yahoo group, because most of them are full of dumb people who just prefer to spam or talk trash about each other or other people, but the one I belong to is very nice. Granted, we don't talk too much, but that's what I like about it. I'm not bombarded with 10,000 emails a day trying to sell me something or trying to convince me that something is good or bad, or whatever. I suppose I should tell a bit about myself... Here we go, kiddies!

I'm 23, I live in South Central Texas, USA, my hair is many different colors during the course of a year, and I'm a Kemetic Witch. Well, I refer to myself as just a Witch who happens to follow the Egyptian Pantheon, but for all intents and purposes, I'm a Kemetic Witch... Even though I celebrate the Celtic HolyDays... Go figure. My parents are Asatruar Witches (though they just call themselves Norse Witches), my sister is a follower of the Faerie Folk (I swear she was a Faerie in a past life!!!) her husband is just a "generic" Wiccan, and my 8-year-old nephew loves all things Thor. He completely disregards all the thousands of other Gods and Goddesses around, his favorite God is Thor. Just Thor. It's because Thor is a simple God, relating best to the simple life of farmers and ordinary people. Or it could be that my nephew loves Mjollnir... That could factor into it, I think... The very first Ritual I ever attended and participated in was Beltaine when I was 9. Well, I wasn't quite 9, but either way. Since then, I have always loved being a Witch. Now, I admit, I did cross over to the other side there for 8 months, and I was a Christian, but when I really saw how the Christians in my town acted, and how they treated anyone who wasn't in their clique, I said, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home." And go home I did. I came home to WitchCraft. I came crawling back, on my hands and knees, begging forgivness from the God and Goddess. The Goddess bent down, placed Her hands on my shoulders and whispered, "Get up, now. You don't need to be doing it like this." I stood up carefully, looked at Them tearfully, and asked forgivness. They embraced me tightly and told me something I won't ever forget - "We don't demand that you grovel at Our feet, unlike some other so-called gods. We want to be able to look you in the eyes and see the smile on your face when you see Us. We love you. Please don't ever leave again?" I was overjoyed, and I haven't looked back at being a Christian since, except to recall the story. The Yule I spent as a Christian was the most hollow and empty Yule (well, Christmas, actually) I had ever experienced. The entire 8 months was full of emptyness, if such a thing can be so. I remember feeling so overjoyed and excited during Yule, and to feel so empty during such a wonderful HolyDay was really the most horrible thing I've ever felt. I don't ever want to feel that way again. Yuck.

Well, onto other things... I see (now, don't laugh, I'm being serious here) dead people. I see the spirits of people who can't get to the Next Plane for some reason or another, and some of them have been around for a really long time, apparently... There's one Spirit who introduced herself as Dancing Cat who has been here for at least 200 years... She was really glad I could see her and hear her, when I met her. She looked like she'd been starved for attention these past centuries. I feel really bad for her, because she doesn't know why she can't move on. And I have no idea, so I don't know how to help her... Otherwise, I'd help her. She harbors the belief that after she was killed, her body was thrown into the river that runs near our house... She was killed by a rival tribe because she was Two-Spirited. She was a very important person in her tribe, and another tribe didn't think so highly of her, and they killed her. She's pretty, though. She's got long black hair and Amber-colored eyes. I don't see why they'd want to kill her, but I suppose some things will be revealed in time. She loves to sit in my bathtub while I'm using the bathroom. She talks to me from the bathtub, and she keeps asking me why I spend so much time on my computer. Of course, she doesn't call it a computer, she insists on calling it a portal. I think she's strange. And she loves to play with my things here on my desk. Her and another spirit, Ellen. They both have taken to rearranging my things on my desk, and all around my room. And I know it's not the Faeries, because they don't like me. No, the Faeries love to headbutt me and poke me, but they don't move my things. (I think I pissed off some Faeries at some point in one of my life journeys... But I'm not sure....) But Ellen and Dancing Cat love to move my things around. It was just Ellen moving my things, but Dancing Cat started to do it, too, about a week ago. They both stand over by my desk while I'm watching TV and they move my stuff! It drives me nuts! And I don't know what it is about me watching TV, but it seems like every Spirit within a 30-mile radius around my house crams into my room and watches movies and shows with me. THAT drives me nuts, because I get so cold! And it's true, you do get cold when Spirits are around! But they all especially love to watch scary movies with me. As if I'm not getting enough goosebumps watching a scary movie, they've all got to come and cram into my room (which isn't very big, by the way) and watch the movie with me!!! But alas, c'est la vie...

Well, that's enough for now, because it's almost 1:30 in the A.M. here where I am... So, kiddies, tune in next time for more ramblings of a demented Cajun...
